Through Ontario Renovates, the City of Ottawa is offering forgivable loans of up to $50,000 for unit rehabilitation/renovation when an owner will agree to rent the units at or below average market rent to select tenants for 15 years. See here for more details.

On August 26, on the advice of Ottawa Public Health (OPH), Ottawa City Council amended its temporary mandatory mask by-law to require building operators of rental buildings (and condominiums) to post notices at all building entrances requiring tenants and residents to wear masks in building common areas and amenity spaces of apartment buildings, triplexes and duplexes.
